NAR L2 Certification
I first learned about the world of hobby rocketry when I was a freshman at MIT! Then I became a member of NAR (National Association of Rocketry) and tried my hand at getting an L1 certification! After I did that successfully, I wanted to get an L2 certification! This was challenging because I didn’t have access to the space and resources I did as an undergrad - I was living in a small apartment in Pasadena at the time, and I had to build my rocket in my parking spot (my neighbors probably thought I was crazy). Luckily though, after a lot of planning, calculations, cutting fiberglass, mixing epoxy, and last-minute spray painting, I successfully launched and recovered my rocket, which I named “Nomad,” and earned my L2 certification with NAR!
