NASA-JPL: Psyche Mission

While I was at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, I worked on the Psyche mission (info about the mission here!) for 3 years as a Fault Management Engineer. The Psyche spacecraft has 4 instruments that are used to collect science data, and a variety of antennae used to communicate with the Earth. The instruments are known as the Payload, and the antennae (and various other components) are known as the Telecom subsystem. I oversaw the design and testing of the fault protection (i.e., the software that autonomously detects and responds to errors on the spacecraft) for the Payload and Telecom subsystems. I also tested fault protection for the Thermal subsystem, and oversaw the testing campaign for off-nominal scenarios for GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control).
